Having Multiple Websites
As referred to in my Multiple domain names article, the only way to benefit from multiple
domain names is to have them hosted as additional, stand alone, independent websites.
Some people will tell you that you should not have duplicate websites, this is true if you
have 1,000 websites all mirror images of each other. If you had 1,000 websites all exactly
the same then YES, Google would think, hello, there's something fishy going on here.
Your additional websites need to appear to Google as no different to the million other websites it has indexed
providing a similar service or product. Google needs to think that your other websites are in no way
related to each other. This is easy to do. Just have your additional websites hosted with different web hosts
on different servers, for instance, if your main website is hosted in the UK, then host some of your other websites in the US.
There's no need to pay to have a new website designed, you can even use a copy of your main website, just change it,
use different page addresses for the internal pages, rewrite the text, rename the images, change the background colour,
it does not matter if the layout is the same as long as the website is not an exact copy of your main website there's
no way that Google will ever know they are related.
So there you have it.
You can have multiple websites and once they are optimised will be capable of receiving extra visitors and all for the cost of just a domain
name and web hosting.
